Rick Stein’s Coves of Cornwall and Prue Leith’s Pure Prue bone china tableware

Dishwashing

It's perfectly safe to wash all bone china tableware in a dishwasher if you follow these basic guidelines:

  • Load pieces so they don’t touch to prevent scratching, knocking and overcrowding in the dishwasher
  • Set the wash temperature at or below 65ºC – choose a gentle cycle like 'short wash' or ‘china & crystal’
  • Use a mild detergent - eco-friendly options are preferable to stronger ones
  • Run a rinse cycle immediately after washing to remove detergent residues
Usage
  • Our bone china ceramics are suitable for oven-to-table, microwave and dishwasher safe. They has been designed to perform at temperatures normally used when cooking up to 200°C/400°F or UK Gas Mark 6
Storage
  • To protect your tableware when storing, it’s best to place a paper napkin or soft cloth between each one to prevent scratching
Mugs and cups
  • Over time a mug or cup may accumulate stains from dark beverages like tea or coffee. Cleaning your mug promptly by hand is the best way to prevent stains. To remove most stains, soak the mug in warm water with dish soap for a few hours before washing. Avoid using abrasive tools or harsh detergents, as these can damage the glaze or surface finish. For more persistent stains, bicarbonate of soda works well, as does soaking a slice of lemon in boiled water.
