This fabulous mug has a printed design on it taken from an old London Transport poster. Big enough for a good sized cuppa but not so big you could take a swim in it. A pleasure to drink from and a pleasure to look at.
1931 - Harry Beck. Harry Beck is best known for designing the diagrammatic map of London's Underground system. He proposed the design in 1931, whilst working as a draughtsman for the Underground. In 1933, after the formation of the London Transport, Frank Pick gave the design a trial printing. It proved to be popular and easily understood by Underground passengers, and has been used ever since. Beck also designed a number of posters for the Underground Group in the early 1930's.
